What a crazy couple weeks I have had. First, the engagement (that happened backwards), then the wedding planning happened (that kind-of happened before the engagement), and then the reality of moving across the country to a military base started to set in. Ohh, and I started a new job. Here is the story!
I have been dating my fiancé for about seven months. Kevin is his name of this handsome man who will become my husband on April 2nd. Kevin was accepted into flight school at Fort Rucker (Fort Rucker is in Alabama). This is a big honor, he will be training there for 15 months and by the end of his training…he will be flying helicopters for the army. Kevin is my inspiration, he has worked so hard to get to this point in his career, and I am so blessed to be going on this journey with him!
Any who, we talked about getting married for awhile, but eventually just settled on the idea of moving to Alabama with. All of a sudden, while he was on vacation with his family in Florida (without me I might add) He said to me, “we needed to get married!” I was in complete shock, but happy as could be. He asked me to start the process, so while he was away I registered for a marriage license, got my dress, set a date, paid for the courthouse, and got a photographer. When he got back, the first thing we did was get our marriage license. The next day he proposed and then we told our families and friends <3
I moved out of my apartment, moved into his place and started a new job. The last week, the idea of moving to Alabama was setting in and the excitement started to grow. I will be moving to Alabama on April 16th of 2014 and I could not be happier!
I am going on a wonderful journey…but a lot in my life is changing. I am starting to realize that I will not be just a wife…I will be a military wife! This will come with a lot of challenges and a lot of learning. One of my good friends (who is also a military wife) told me that patience is key. I have a lot to learn! But I am so excited for the journey we are about to take! And I am so blessed for all the friends I have. More to come on the parties, the wedding, and the move!
