We are beginning our departure from summer and traveling into fall. While the weather remains the same (hot and humid), everything else seems to be changing. I have turned into a housewife, and athlete, and a teacher! I am so excited that autumn has started, because now my days of anticipation are over.
Adventures in Marriage
Kevin and I got a puppy! A 10 week old pure breed Aussie.
We wanted the name to have “something” to do with the military, so we chose a world from the phonetic alphabet. Kevin chose E, E for Echo! His full name is Echo Tagliareni of the Fort! (as in Fort Rucker).
We were so excited when we picked him up. He (of course) had a little bit of trouble leaving his mom, but after meeting our other Australian Shepard, Beemer, I think he felt better. Echo and Beemer are getting along great. Echo likes to chew on everything he can get his mouth on, and he also likes to dig in the dirt…yes I spend a lot of time cleaning, But it is so worth it. I love Echo! Kevin loves having a puppy in the house, and he is already training Echo to sit and shake!

Adventures in CrossFit
On the third day of my existence in Alabama, I ventured to the CrossFit gym! I must be really addicted, because I have yet to go more than three days without CrossFit. Since Alabama is a great deal hotter and far more humid than Colorado, most of the workouts result in my clothing being drenched in sweat. The trainers are great, and I have loved the intensity. I was able to compete in my first CrossFit competition in July and I was happy with the result. My partner was a fantastic trainer! I am a regular at the gym already and I cannot wait to continue training and competing. I have already hit a couple PRs since being here!
Deadlift: 180lbs
Overhead Squat: 90lbs
Annie: 9:06
Hang Clean: 90lbs
And I might add, just because dance is coming back into the picture, does not mean I am giving up on CrossFit…I have gone too far to quit now!
Adventures in Dance
I was honored when I received a phone call from the Dothan and Enterprise School of Dance director offering me a job. I will be teaching Creative Dance, Kinder-dance, Ballet and Tap K, Ballet 1 and offering private lessons at the Enterprise School of Dance. I have been waiting and waiting for the classes to begin. I have missed dance a great deal since retiring and I am hoping to get back into it during this coming school year. Dance was always a great passion of mine and still is, and now that I have the opportunity to inspire other little dancers…I will be living the dream once more. While teaching at the dance studio, I will also be taking advanced ballet classes at the studio. I am hoping to be able to perform a ballet variation by the showcase in May of 2015. My husband has never seen me dance and I am hoping to show him.
Zumba is also included, I have officially begun my teaching job at T-Studios and I love it! I have already done a Zumbathon with the studio, and helped out with a couple of events.
Adventures in Friendship
I have made a great deal of friends since being in Alabama! I have had coffee dates, walks, runs, and wine nights with my lovely ladies. I hosted a Cupcake night at my home (Cupcake Wine and a Cupcake Bar). I was so happy to have all my friends around me, I felt so blessed! It is such a relief to think that I have such a fantastic support system and I can be a support to the other girls.
