From Strong to Army Strong.
I am officially a military wife! How do I feel now? I feel proud, nervous, excited, happy and sad all at the same time. Proud because my husband serves for the United States of America and is serving our country! I am nervous because I have lot to learn. Despite the nervousness, I am excited about the new life we are going to start together. I am happy, because he is finally beginning his journey! I am sad, because sometime I won’t see him for months at a time.
Kevin left about two weeks ago for Alabama, and since he got on the plane…I have had a bit of a struggle. The hardest part was watching him walk away. These two weeks have been difficult, but I have found the best thing to do (for me) is keep busy. I have spent a lot of time at the gym (Crossfit and Zumba), cleaning, and working. I am going to start writing letters today, and then scrapbooking our wedding day!
Distance is all part of the journey, and I knew that going in! But let distance be another reason to love harder than any couple should. Kevin told me that this part of the journey was going to be difficult for the both of us, but then he told me something else…He told me to be “ARMY STRONG”
Being army strong is a physical and emotional strength that builds character and pride. It means doing your duty no matter how difficult the task. Being army strong means staying strong despite the pain. Being army strong means a lot. “Army Strong” represents the best of the Army; the best of America; the best of each and every Soldier” No one can stop a team who is Army Strong!
As an army wife now living the military life, I have to be Army Strong! I have to support my husband no matter what! I have to have strength and courage when he is away. No matter how much I miss him, no matter how much it hurts, no matter how far apart we are, no matter what….I have to be more than strong, I have to be ARMY STRONG! You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have. I am “ARMY STRONG!”
I am so proud of my soldier; he is going to do great things. His training officially starts tomorrow and I am so excited for him! Some people look up to their heros; I am in love with mine!
